Charity and Philanthropy webinar by GSMA for The GSMA Innovation Fund for Humanitarian Challenges
The GSMA Innovation Fund for Humanitarian Challenges
As global humanitarian needs continue to rise, there is an increasing demand to respond with innovative, impactful and scalable solutions powered by mobile and digital technology. On 11 December, the GSMA opened the GSMA Innovation Fund for Humanitarian Challenges. The Fund will provide grants as well as additional non-financial and technical support to projects that leverage mobile and digital technology to pilot and scale solutions that address humanitarian challenges in low- and middle-income countries. The specific objective of this new Fund is to test innovative use cases, partnerships, and business models that can improve access to sustainable digital-enabled solutions for those who are affected by – or vulnerable to – humanitarian challenges. The Fund is open to applications from for-profit small and growing enterprises (commercially viable start-ups, small and medium enterprises, and social enterprises with up to 250 employees). Successful projects will receive a grant of between £100,000 and £250,000 to scale their innovation over a 15 to 18 month period. Join this webinar to learn more about the Fund from key concepts, grantee support and eligibility.

Your Supply Chain Employees Will Leave; Shift to Embrace Turnover
According to a Gartner survey, 75% of supply chain leaders believe that with labor shortages, low employee engagement, and retention challenges, voluntary turnover is here to stay and will likely increase over the next five or more years. The traditional response of the blind pursuit of employee retention has not produced optimal talent results. This raises the question: What if embracing employee turnover has its benefits? Gartner’s most recent research finds that CSCOs seeking to thrive in this environment must adopt three talent shifts to translate turnover into a competitive advantage. Join our expert in this complimentary supply chain webinar as they explore these three shifts and real-world examples of organizations that bring these practices to life.

CPH Webinar Wednesdays - Prometheus Unbound: The Potential and Risks of Large Language Models in Public Health
Presented by Chris Von CsefalvayLarge language models (LLMs) like GPT have captured the public's attention, raising both overinflated expectations of generalized artificial intelligence (AGI) and fears of a takeover of the machines. Yet, in the right hands, LLMs can be powerful tools of improving public health surveillance, detecting early signals of pathogenic outbreaks from noisy social media and support data-driven decision-making at a hitherto unprecedented scale. This presentation will briefly introduce what LLMs are (and, more importantly, what they aren't), followed by a discussion of possible applications in public health as well as their risks, concluding with an equity-centered perspective on creating safe and unbiased AI/ML tools. Public health experts will undoubtedly find themselves as consumers of, and sometimes interactors with, such models, making it all the more crucial to build a fact-based understanding of this new tool and discuss how its risks are best mitigated.

Technology webinar by Gecko Robotics for Technology to Reduce Forced Outages Webinar
Technology to Reduce Forced Outages Webinar
Like all electric power producers, forced outages mean reduced megawatt hour (MWh) generation, a strain on the grid for the surrounding community, and lost revenue. And for a power plant in West Virginia, recurring boiler tube failure and subsequent downtime meant falling behind its peers. The plant manager and his team turned to technology to provide the data and insights needed to guarantee uptime and seamless energy production. In a recent 5-day planned outage, data from a full-coverage robotic boiler tube inspection was used to generate a targeted repair plan in just eight hours. Armed with this information, the plant is making repairs, planning for future outages, and driving efficiencies along the entire maintenance value chain. In this webinar, learn how this end-to-end solution, which combines robotics and advanced software analytics, is empowering this power plant to make data-driven boiler management decisions.
