AgTech in Action: AgriWebb and Farmbot Webinar
To support the improvement of operational productivity and efficiency, many farmers are adopting various forms of agtech to help them better manage their businesses. The best part is, many of these technologies work together through integrations that allow for farmers to have a central location where the data, notifications and insights can be found. In this webinar, learn how two farmers are being empowered by the integration between AgriWebb’s livestock management software and Farmbot’s array of remote water monitoring solutions. By using both, these producers are able to save time, improve their bottom line and manage their teams more effectively. Our panel includes:• Philip Coe – Cooee Farms, Queensland• Ian Locke – Wirruna Poll Hereford Stud, NSW• Lachlan Herbert – AgriWebb• Nick Donnelly – Farmbot

Industry > Farming and Agriculture webinar by The National Agricultural Law Center for HPAI in Poultry and Cattle: How Can We Miss You If You Won’t Go Away?
HPAI in Poultry and Cattle: How Can We Miss You If You Won’t Go Away?
It has been approximately two months since federal and state animal health officials and the U.S. dairy industry became immersed in efforts to monitor and potentially control the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in dairy cattle. It has been more than two years since those same government officials and the U.S. poultry and egg production sectors became immersed in this same struggle in their species—an effort that continues unabated. HPAI could be with us as part of the permanent backdrop to animal production agriculture, primarily under the jurisdiction of USDA-APHIS, but also invoking FDA authority as threats to food safety need to be addressed and CDC authority if human health is implicated. Animal disease control is one of the core, but unappreciated, functions of USDA and state departments of agriculture. This webinar will lay out the foundational statutes, regulations, manuals and procedures that authorize USDA-APHIS authority, through the lens of these two HPAI outbreaks in divergent species, including a slate of sometimes sweeping powers to compel a range of disease control measures and tactics. The webinar will also trace the last 60 days’ progression of the HPAI outbreak in dairy cattle to illustrate how the invocation of disease control measures evolves and adapts to the changing conditions of a disease, host animal, known potentials and methods for transmission, and the potential economic implications.Presenter: Brook Duer, Staff Attorney, Penn State Center for Agricultural and Shale Law

Farm to Family: The Role of Biosolutions in Enhancing Agricultural and Consumer Value Chains
Join us for an exciting live webinar panel as we kick off the celebration of World Milk Day and Dairy Month of June in the US.  By engaging four experts from diverse fields within the biosolutions ecosystem, the discussion will foster a comprehensive understanding of how these technologies contribute to more sustainable, efficient, and healthy agricultural practices, less waste, cleaner water and more sustainable consumer products. Let's explore the critical role of biosolutions across the entire agricultural and consumer goods value chain, from farm to family, using the dairy chain as an example. This panel aims to highlight innovative applications and discuss the sustainability, efficacy, and natural benefits of biosolutions in enhancing plant health, transforming dairy production, and extending to industrial applications, including food processing, bioenergy and even household care. The panel will also address challenges and opportunities in adopting biosolutions, aiming to inform and inspire stakeholders—including farmers, industry professionals, and sustainability advocates—on the practical benefits and transformative potential of biosolutions in their respective sectors. This webinar best suits dairy farmers, veterinarians, nutritionists, agronomists, Dairy Industry professionals and those interested in sustainability, biosolutions and planetary health. The webinar is in English and is intended for a professional audience globally.

Industry > Farming and Agriculture webinar by Washington Soil Health Initiative for Making Soils Data Actionable Webinar
Making Soils Data Actionable Webinar
More soil tests and data are available to farmers than ever. While this can be empowering, it can also be confusing. New information on soil chemistry, biology, and physics can sometimes be difficult to translate into action. In this webinar series, we highlight projects across Washington that are using soil data to inform real, on-farm management decisions. If you’ve been hit with soil data overload, this is the series for you. Farmers, agricultural advisors, extension staff, and decision makers are welcome. Come hear about how to take action on soil data, learn about available resources, and meet other Washington soil enthusiasts. Chemical Adam Peterson, Senior GIS and Science Specialist, Thurston Conservation District. Biological Lindsey du Toit, Professor and Chair, Department of Plant Pathology, Washington State University. Physical Troy Peters, Professor, Department of Biological Systems Engineering, Washington State University. Special Topic for R Users: Soil Health Report Generator Jadey Ryan, Data Scientist, Washington State Department of Agriculture

Industry > Farming and Agriculture webinar by American Farmland Trust for Achieving a Smart Solar Buildout with Local and State Policy
Achieving a Smart Solar Buildout with Local and State Policy
Maximizing solar’s positive benefits for farmers and rural communities and minimizing the negative impacts on farm viability and farmland will require proactive policymaking. State and local governments are primarily responsible for the land use and permitting decisions that shape the future of their communities. This webinar will focus on ways that state and local governments can protect farmland, farm viability, rural economies, and agricultural land access while accelerating the development of solar to address climate change, highlighting recommendations recently released by AFT (linked below). This webinar will be recorded and both posted to AFT’s website, farmland.org/solar, and shared with all registrants. Specifically, the webinar will cover recommendations that: 1) Empower communities to define and steer solar development to preferred sites, like the built environment and contaminated and marginal land, to prevent the conversion of land well-suited for farming out of production, 2) Require minimum standards for developers to follow that will safeguard soil health and productivity during construction, operation, and decommissioning, and preserve future water access and rights when siting solar on farmland, 3) Expand development of agrivoltaic projects (the pairing of solar energy generation with agricultural production) through research, demonstrations, incentives, and support, and 4) Advance equity and farm viability by promoting distributed solar and protecting low-income ratepayers from potential energy cost increases. To view the recommendations and learn more, visit https://farmland.org/smart-solar-policy-recommendations/ Please reach out to Jaimee Harrison at jharrison@farmland.org with questions.
