The Future of Research - An Introduction to Open Science
Open Science is at the centre of the European Union's research and innovation agenda. It makes scientific research, data, and outputs more accessible to all, aims to remove barriers to sharing knowledge and fosters collaboration across disciplines. Through closer cooperation and transparency, Open Science seeks to democratise knowledge, address global challenges, and drive societal progress. Open Science is a legal obligation under Horizon Europe, based on the principle ‘as open as possible, as closed as necessary’.
