In January, a federal appeals panel in Massachusetts ruled that a civil lawsuit filed by Mexico against U.S. gun manufacturers for aiding and abetting illegal sales could proceed, reversing a lower court that had dismissed the case. This timely event will explore the recent decision in Massachusetts as well as developments in the upcoming Arizona case. On June 30, 2023, CMS issued its final guidance memorandum on the implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program for the Initial Price Applicability Year of 2026. This memorandum is the latest development in the accelerated implementation of the negotiation program, issued just four months after CMS released an initial draft of the guidance memorandum, which generated substantial stakeholder feedback.
