Residential Solar-Adopter Income and Demographic Trends: 2023 Update
Please join us for a free webinar summarizing key findings from Berkeley Lab’s recently published report, “Residential Solar-Adopter Income and Demographic Trends: 2023 Update.” The report, the latest in an annual series, describes income and other socio-economic trends among U.S. residential rooftop solar adopters. This latest edition is based on household level data for more than 3.4 million residential solar adopters across the country, with systems installed through 2022. With its unique size, geographic scope, and level of detail, this report is intended to serve as a foundational reference document for policy-makers, industry stakeholders, and researchers. We appreciate the funding support of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Solar Energy Technologies Office.

Construction webinar by Sto Construction Materials & Products for Transforming Walls With Next Level Cladding With Resin Cast Shapes Registration
Transforming Walls With Next Level Cladding With Resin Cast Shapes Registration
Re-engineering the classic look of brick and wood facades with prefabricated resin cast shapes that are durable, lightweight, easy to install, and offer the same curb appeal as natural brick or wood. This course examines the wood and brick aesthetic of resin cast shapes and demonstrates their sustainability and performance qualities. Case studies of noteworthy projects will illustrate the superior form and function of this Next Level Cladding alternative. Learning Objectives: 1. Describe resin cast shapes and their use for sustainable cladding 2. Design the benefits and performance characteristics of resin-cast shapes 3. Increase profitability with less labor-intensive materials to install, fewer trades to coordinate, and a reduced need for skilled labor 4. Identify the design and aesthetic versatility

Energy webinar by Green Energy Consumers Alliance for Green Municipal Aggregation and Your Community
Green Municipal Aggregation and Your Community
We are publishing a fourth report on the benefits of Green Municipal Aggregation (GMA, or Green Community Choice Electricity, CCE) in Massachusetts. GMA/CCE allows a community to negotiate a bulk purchase of electricity for residents, which saves them money on their electric bills. But crucially, it also adds more renewable energy to their electricity. The newest data: The winter of 2022/2023 was extraordinarily expensive for customers who received power supply from National Grid, Eversource, Unitil, or Rhode Island Energy. But customers receiving supply from aggregations saved more money than ever. Join this webinar to learn more about the report.

Farming and Agriculture webinar by International Wheat Genome Sequencing Consortium for Insight Into Wheat Spike and Grain Development by Learning From Natural Variation And Chemically-Induced Mutants
Insight Into Wheat Spike and Grain Development by Learning From Natural Variation And Chemically-Induced Mutants
Presenter: Andy (Yi) Chen, John Innes Centre, UKOutline: Grain and spike development are two important developmental processes in wheat that can influence final grain yield. To better understand these two processes, we investigated the genetic basis of wheat subspecie and mutants that have different grain or spike morphology compared to cultivated wheat. The wheat subspecie Triticum ispahanicum (n = 14) have a major QTL, P2, on chromosome 6A. P2 increases the length of glume, maternal floral organs and grain. By using combination of positional-based cloning and gene editing, we discovered that T. ispahanicum has a unique 482-bp promoter deletion on the gene SHORT VEGETATIVE PHASE-A1 (SVP-A1) which is sufficient to increase glume and grain length. EMS line ANK-15 and the Japanese landrace Nakate Gumbai have compact spike. To understand the genetic basis of spike development, we performed F2 mapping and identified a QTL on chromosome 5D. We performed RNA-seq using near-isogenic lines and identified a set of candidate genes that can influence spike development.References: https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s00122-022-04114-y
