Description

As we prepare for the 2024 National Conference in New Brunswick in May, we are developing a virtual learning series in line with the conference theme, "Renewal and Confluence: Navigating the Future of Evaluation" to get the conversations started.

The first webinar in the series is “R.A.C.E Academy” with dr. monique inez liston.

R.A.C.E Academy

April 23: 12pm – 1:30pm ET

R.A.C.E. Academy is a learning process for organizations or programs to address equity through respecting, protecting, and fulfilling a sense of dignity, especially for people of color. It is a workshop designed to give participants the skills to navigate choppy waters. The curriculum is radical because of the intentional focus on addressing the root components of human engagement: personal and collective dignity. The goal of this process is to understand, interpret, and analyze how a person’s dignity may be affirmed or denied through the work of an organization or program.

R.A.C.E. Academy addresses the internal and external experiences of an organization’s staff and clients. This framework:

  • centers dignity as a mutually reflected sense of worthiness between individuals, groups, and their communities that deserves recognition and accountability;

  • interrogates and challenges interlocking systems of oppression from global and local viewpoints; and

  • holds both the individual and the collective responsible for creating and sustaining equitable communities at all levels of engagement.

R.A.C.E. Academy is a process that addresses multiple levels of organizational and program impact simultaneously through a cohesive framework for critical thinking and engagement. Through participation in R.A.C.E. Academy, members will have a chance to explore biases, privileges, and cultural humility through dignity.
