Description

A new report published by Re-engage highlights the impact of scams and fraud on people in the UK aged 75 and over who are experiencing loneliness.

The report, including research conducted by Professor Mark Button, Director of the Centre for Cybercrime and Economic Crime and Criminal Justice at the University of Portsmouth, found:

  • Scams and fraud significantly impact people aged 75 and over who are experiencing loneliness,

  • How scams and fraud can reduce wellbeing, and increase isolation and digital exclusion,

  • What steps can be taken to reduce the impact of scams and fraud on isolated people aged 75 and over

Join our online event on the 15th of November 2023, at 12.30pm for the full findings. Hear from a panel including experts from the Friends Against Scams – a National Trading Standards Scams Team initiative, Aviva, and Professor Mark Button.

Laura Joplin, head of impact at Re-engage, will chair the session and talk about how we are educating and supporting people aged 75 and over to be more aware of the risks.

We look forward to you joining the event.
