Latinas Represent aims to increase the number and diversity of Latinas in public service to transform our communities and build a more reflective democracy. Latinos make up about 20% of the U.S. population but only 2% of local, state, and federal elected offices. Formerly an initiative of the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda, we’re working to change that.
During this virtual event in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we will discuss the deep impact of domestic violence on the Latinx community and the actionable steps elected officials and communities can take to stand by survivors. This event is co-hosted by Latinas Represent and Esperanza United.
