Decisions that Matter: 2SLGBTQIA+ Youth in Ontario's Child Welfare
The experiences of the 2SLGBTQIA+ children and youth involved with Ontario’s child welfare system remain fairly invisible and there are limited clinical approaches designed to strengthen the skills of social workers and those providing care. This presentation, in partnership with OACAS, will: (1) Review the existing literature on 2SLGBTQIA+ youth in child welfare (2) Outline an emerging decision framework for clinical decision making to support 2SLGBTQIA+ children & youth involved with child welfare (3) Provide specific strategies for affirming social work practice with 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and their caregivers. This Webinar is FREE for everyone. This Employment Ontario project is funded in part by the Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario.
