The Disability Participation and Participation Network (DPCN) are delighted to invite you to our upcoming webinar on “Disabled Persons Organisations (DPOs) and the UNCRPD”. In the lead up to International Day of Persons with Disabilities, this event aims to raise awareness on: * What a DPO is - an overview, acronyms and General Comment 7 * The forms DPOs take * The role of DPOs under the UNCRPD * What DPOs look like internationally * The role of DPOs in consultation monitoring processes. * Challenges facing DPOs in Ireland today * The benefits of joining or working with DPOs The event will be DPO-led from our membership and there will be a panel discussion towards the end of the session with time for Q&A too. We hope this will benefit not only disabled people and DPOs, but also public bodies, decision makers, disability organisations and allies who might want to learn more about DPOs and how they might involve or consult them in their work.
