Established by the United States Congress, NIBS' mission is to serve the public interest by advancing building science and technology to improve the built environment. Members of NIBS are on the forefront of understanding how building science and social equity are related. We champion a diverse, equitable, and inclusive industry workforce that matches our communities. Together, our members work to identify and address the challenges faced in the built environment. NIBS provides research and guidance to help inform local and state governments and develop federal programs to lessen the impacts of natural disasters on our communities.
