Founded in 2003, the Holcim Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to accelerating the global movement for sustainable architecture, design and construction. They define and promote key principles of sustainability for the built environment. The foundation aims to identify, discuss, and democratize leading-edge thinking and best practices in sustainable construction. They support systems change through sparking, interrogating, and promoting important solutions, supporting blue-sky thinking and practical knowledge sharing, and conducting international Holcim Awards competitions to build a pipeline of innovative approaches to design and construction.
